Orca Orca-South Carolina
Jimmy Hewitt, the man behind the always pleasant dream pop sounds of Boston’s Orca Orca, released a brand new two track ep titled Remnants last week in celebration of the project making that oh so wonderful ear magic for all of us for a year now. While I’ve played both tracks time and time again since I came across the ep, the first track “South Carolina” definitely stuck out and hit home for me, being that I was born and raised in the state. Enveloped by a feel good pop vibe and driven by Hewitt’s laid back vocals, the track has a way of making the listener feel warm inside from start to finish and it’s certainly got that lush dream pop sway that I can’t ever get enough of. Remnants is short but sweet and I hope it means that there’s more from Orca Orca to come in the near future.
