“South Carolina” is the second song off a 2 song EP being released today to mark the 1 year milestone for Orca Orca. Head over to Soundcloud to listen to/download it »>here«<
One year ago today, I changed monikers and released two songs that I recorded in my practice space and in my bedroom. A couple months later, I released an EP and asked my friends to join my band to play shows. Then we got a new drummer. Then he joined J. Geils Band. We got another new drummer. Then he moved to Brooklyn. And now we have yet another solid dude playing drums with us.
During the transition period this summer, I found myself back in my room writing songs again for the first time since February. For “Swan Song”, I took a couple days off work and headed down to the suburbs to watch my parents house while they were away and recorded some guitar licks in their living room. A few weeks later I recorded “South Carolina” in a practice space in Allston during the smoke breaks of the hardcore band in the room next door. The result is a two song EP I’ve titled Remnants and the songs may sound a little different from one another. You can download them for free here and keep an eye out for shows and more news in the coming months.
